NEW! Church boat trip to Salpa line Print
Boat trip at beautiful lake Kuusamojärvi with motorized church boat. Program starts from Kelanranta which locates near by the centre of Kuusamo and continues to the Lahtela where we get to know and see partly renovated Salpa line (bolt-line). From the boat you can admire the amazing scenes of the lake Kuusamojärvi. Salpa line, official name Finland's Bolt was a bunker line on the eastern border of Finland. It was built during the Interim Peace between the Winter War and the Continuation War (1940–1944) to defend Finland against a possible Soviet invasion. The line is 1200 km long, stretching from the Gulf of Finland to Petsamo in northern Finland (now Pechenga, Russia). Salpa line is still the biggest construction site in Finland. During the trip group  will enjoy coffee and sweet bun. Duration of the program is ca. 3 hours, walking distance at Salpa line is ca. 2km.
